Samagat started his tryst with filmmaking in 2017 when he left a prestigious data science job in Bengaluru and joined Whistling Woods International, Mumbai with a hope to turn his passion into a profession. During the first year, he won the WWI scholarship and then, the even more coveted Amitabh Bachchan Media Scholarship, the following year. He graduated with a gold medal and went on to assist Sudeep Chatterjee in a popular Hindi film starring Alia Bhatt. Following a lull during the pandemic, he shot a couple of independent feature films, a documentary and a regional web-series. He eventually joined a digital media company as an in-house Director of Photography. In a shorter format, his expertise lies in shooting corporate films, ads, fashion films and short films.
